JA JA: The Dream
Twitter post:
QuinTor: "I dreamed with kites taking over a city sky, these kites where big letters: Ja Ja"
28 Oct.
Three hours after waking up I got awesome news and I decided to draw it. Maybe I'll put it in a big canvas later.

Still Quieten
I wanted to create a new portrait series continuing the tradition I started in 2008 with the series called "Despite"
This is the most personal work I've ever created this year. Somehow, all the people here have been influential in my life. Each person in these portraits I've loved or still love with all my heart. There's some people I stopped drawing due to lack of touch or lost of feelings ( not including Montaña ). Like I said, it's very personal.
I enjoyed the time I drew each one.
Total of 15 people, 23 sketches and 11 finals. These are the 11 finals.
Portrait series
"Still Quieten"

Digital Illustration.
Made in Adobe Illustrator.

Kiddo
I have to make a side note here.
I've been drawing Nattie Gone since 2005 and I find a special interest in the images I make of this character. I made two Nattie Gones the same week and both are so different. I love both, but the strokes and colors are different and it seriously made me think:
How is my stroke?
Is it fluid? organized? sketchy?
How are my colors?
strong? contrast?
Should I even worry about this?
I thinking about it because the consistency here is way off.
Nattie Gone
Nattie Gone (different)
By the way... Am I the only one that find this amusing? I love to do this! acitvate all the anchor points :)

Sexual Transmutation
Picasso said that for him sexuality and art were the same thing, leading us to believe that he made love as he made art
Sexual Transmutation according to Wikipedia:
Sexual Transmutation according to Wikipedia:
“Is the attempt among some religious traditions to transform sexual energy into creativity, thereby facilitating a mystical awakening.”
Transmutation is the act of transferring sexual chemistry into a more creative environment (art, poetry, music etc) Sex desire is the most powerful of human desires.
Can I channel that powerful desire into a blank canvas again?
My goal is I’m not going to have any sexual activity with another person or myself until December of 2010.
Due to many reasons:
1. I have to forget the fact that sex is the maximum component of a relationship.
3. Spiritual insight.
4. This one I’ll never share.
5. The main reason is creativity.
I've been researching about creativity because I’ve been lost for a while now. And if it takes to give up sexual pleasure to pursue creativity, well, I will.If this works, great. If it doesn't work, oh well.
It’s been a month and it has been really hard. But at the end, it doesn’t feel bad. I’ve felt surprising energy levels the past 2 weeks and that feels great. Still working on that creativity issue. I never knew I had so many urges.
I wonder if there are other artists doing the same thing.
I wonder how many people practice this concept.

What is a workplace/studio?
Self-portrait 2006
Ilford print. Kodak BW.
I’ve had magnificent workplaces in the past. I just didn’t have the habit of taking pictures of them. I only took pictures of this studio which lasted from 2005 - 2007
The workplace is the place where I can feel. Where I can hide beneath secrets ready to be explored. Is the place where I can burst smiles and tears. Silence governs and music shakes my chest. The workplace is where I have my private meetings, is where I dress, undress and where I like to undress the loved ones, and all over again. My workplace has this ceiling which it may thinks is a sky because I stare at it and I look beyond looking for stars and whatnot. The walls are my favorite museum with prints of loved artists, favorite musicians, and admired politicians. It has dim lights (sexy lights) , white lights (work lights). This place protects my acrylics, markers, color pencils, brushes, tapes, 4 cameras, inks, more paint, all kinds of paper, cardboards and fabric. My workplace has art history books, lowbrow magazines, and taschen collections. It is the place where I wake up to write stuff at 3am. Simba is definitely the king, among other toys like a terracotta Chinese soldier, the walking nigiri and the gay octopus. The workplace is where I make my bright future. It is the only place that hears and sees all the stories I want to create. It is the only place that doesn’t deserve my weird smoking habits. It is the place that can witness my imagination running wild while I draw, paint, illustrate, sketch and edit wearing only my new lion king panties and socks.
I don’t have a room. I have a studio.
I love to see pictures of other studios. I recommend taking a look at this artists’ workplaces
I'm currently redecorating my studio. I'll submit a picture soon.

6pm “Jugos Sin Azucar”
